First Aid at Work (3 day)

This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.

The recommended course duration is 3 days and topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the First Aider; assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness, chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis. The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.

All successful students will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their achievement

First Aid Requalification

The First Aid at Work Level 3 Requalification Qualification (FAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that they require a fully trained first aider for their workplace and they need to requalify their certification. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981.

This course must be at least 12 contact hours and run over a minimum of 2 day and the certificate is valid for 3 years. This course is only for people who already hold a valid First Aid at Work certificate and they can take this 2 day course rather than the full 3 day FAW. You must have a copy of your original certificate.

Paediatric First Aid

This is a Blended 2 Day course

We offer an alternative to the 2 days in the classroom for childminders and carers who need to complete a Paediatric First Aid Course to comply with the requirements of Ofsted, EYFS and SureStart. Our blended course offers a video based online course that is completed before attending a full day in the classroom with an instructor to complete the practical part of the course.

This course offers an excellent alternative for those who are simply unable to spare the time to attend 2 days in a classroom only course. When you have successfully completed both the online and classroom modules, you will be issued a certificate and wallet card.

Paediatric First Aid

This is a 12 hour classroom based course.

This course meets and exceeds the requirements laid down by Ofsted, EYFS and SureStart for people needing a 2 day 12 contact hour first aid course for Adult, infant and child. This group includes childminders and carers. The HSE recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher courses and our online course meets this requirement.

If you want to save time in the classroom but still meeting the required hours, we offer a blended version where you complete half the course using our video online training then attend one day in the classroom.

Emergency First Aid

The Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification (EFAW) is ideal for most businesses whose risk assessment has identified that there is no requirement for a fully trained first aider for their workplace. All courses are delivered, evaluated and quality assured to meet the new guidelines set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations 1981.

This course must be at least 6 contact hours and run over a minimum of 1 day and the certificate is valid for 3 years. To renew you need to attend another EFAW 6 hour course.

Defibrillator Training

This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in AED use. Learning AED skills is becoming more important with the increase in the numbers of units in the community and workplace. They are easy to use with a little training and make a real difference in the chance of survival to someone in cardiac arrest. If you have already completed any other first aid course, you will understand the importance of prompt use of an AED making this an ideal next course to take to develop your skills. To renew, complete the same course again.

The QCF version of this course includes Basic Life Support (CPR) and is a longer course. We are able to offer this course if you would prefer, enquire for further details.


Sports First Aid

This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in sports first aid. The course is available as a classroom, blended or online course. The certificate is valid for 3 years and a recommended annual refresher can be done online.

This course covers basic first aid and is aimed at people who need first aid who work in various sports sectors. It not only covers basic first aid but also all the specific problems that arise in sports.
